From 2025, lost property will be located across from the school library in 3 green wheelie bins.
Please put name labels on all clothing items, jackets, lunchboxes, and drink bottles to prevent loss and reduce waste.
We ask for your cooperation in returning all items back to the bins once you have finished looking through the items in the bin.
Any lost property that is not claimed after and the end of each term will be either donated to the IEPS Second-hand Uniform Shop or disposed of appropriately.
Lost Property policy
Rationale: It is inevitable that items will be misplaced by students and visitors at school. We therefore provide an efficient and effective lost property service for all.
Aim: To minimise property losses and to return misplaced items to their rightful owners as efficiently as possible.
Implementation:
· The lost property bins will be located adjacent to the library and will be open during office hours.
· Parents and students will be regularly encouraged to clearly name and label all personal items including clothing, bags, books, sporting equipment and stationery.
· Misplaced or lost items are to be brought to the lost property bins or school office as soon as possible.
· Misplaced items that are inappropriate to be returned to students will be delivered to the Principal.
· Parents or students seeking to claim lost items should check the lost property bins.
· Unclaimed but named items will be returned to their rightful owners whenever possible.
· Appropriate unnamed good quality uniform items that are still unclaimed will be washed and placed in the second-hand uniform store for resale.
· Other unclaimed and damaged items will be disposed of appropriately at the end of each term.
Evaluation: This policy is to be reviewed as part of the school’s three-year review cycle.
