A tough week
It seems a long time ago that we sent out last week’s Bulletin with information about Smiling Minds, our Lunchtime Clubs Program and parking issues. However here we are.
I would like to commend our community for their efforts over the past week. These times are a challenge for everybody and if we all pull in the same direction - it sure does help.
The Acting Premier has just announced that the lockdown will be extended for an additional seven days. I’ll keep in touch through Compass as I have done over recent days.
I would expect that we will have a further announcement next Wednesday (June 10th) that will provide updates on -
1. When we return to on-site learning
- What the arrangements are that we need to put into place when we do return.
All schools receive a document called the School Operation Guide which is updated every time there is a change in regulations. It covers things like-
- density limits (these in turn affect the type of events we can hold at school)
- pick up and drop off arrangements
- visitors to school grounds, camps and excursions
- community use of school facilities.
I would expect that when we are all back on site there will be some adjustments to all of the aforementioned matters.
Some Resources that might be useful
The Department of Education have created a website that specifically sets out some strategies for building and strengthening children’s well-being. It describes five key contributors to maintaining well–being
- Understanding and Managing Emotions
- Having Good Relationships
- Recognising Accomplishment
- Using our Strengths
- Taking part in healthy activities, getting enough sleep and eating well.
The page then goes on to describe in more detail the types of things that can contribute to a strong sense of wellbeing. It also has links to Smiling Minds, the Raising Children Network and Parent Line.
I’ve included the link below-
