Days of Acknowledgement
June 5th – World Environment Day
World Environment Day encourages individuals to reflect on how their actions impact the world around them. This year, the global focus is ‘Our land. Our future. We are #generationrestoration’. Saudi Arabia will be hosting this years event as we look to the younger generation, listen to their voices and together build an environmentally friendly future.
IEPS is doing our part by having each year level take it in turns to clean up the playground after recess. If you would like to take part in World Environment Day while also supporting the school, the container deposit scheme allows you to choose IEPS as a donation when you dispose of your empty containers.
June 10th – Kings Birthday
We hope everyone has an enjoyable and safe school free day next Monday for the Kings birthday.
Day 2 of School Review Reflection
Yesterday we had our second day of our 3-day school review, with the remaining day occurring next Tuesday. Yesterday the panel spoke with a range of stakeholders, visited classrooms, observed staff planning meetings and PLC meetings, spoke with classroom teachers, education support staff, middle leaders, and learning specialists, and unpacked our curriculum.
This was an in-depth fieldwork day, and it was great to hear that the panel didn’t find any gaps across the school. Our final day will be about diving deeper into specifics to set goals and targets as part of our continuous improvement cycle as we strive for excellence here at IEPS.
YouTube Assemblies
Every fortnight on a Friday morning we release another episode of IEPS News via our YouTube channel. This episode is watched in all classrooms and we invite our community members to also engage with our digital assembly. We have looked into the data and we have roughly one-third of our community engaging with our digital assembly.
The process of drafting a script, filming, editing, and publishing each digital newsletter is quite in-depth and the ‘Press club’ are extremely proud of their work. I want to take this opportunity to encourage all members of our community to engage with our digital assembly (IEPS News) each fortnight through the message that will come out via Compass on a Friday morning.

Year One and Two Arts Excursion – Nolan 2A
On Friday, the years 1s and 2s went to the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) and the NGV. There were other schools there too. Parent helpers were also there to help people. We heard music that added effect to the story The Peasant Prince. It was about a boy from a poor family in China who got selected to become a great dancer in all of China. They played the music and the composer came up to the stage. Someone also read the book. When reading, pictures showed on the back wall. Other schools were there too. We were in the second last line in the middle. I was right in the middle.
We walked to the NGV, there was a glass wall at the front. We went inside to put our bags in the lockers. There were two statues in the middle. We went up the staircase. We made a book. I made a book about Roblox.
We worked together in groups to answer questions about the art we saw. There was a room full with things from the olden days. There were questions about these olden days too. The room filled with these olden day stuff also had little TVs with headphones to listen to the talking. There also was a room which things showed in five sides in the olden day room. The art gallery wasn’t just filled with pictures of art, it also had statues in the room.

House Spirit Morning: Building Teamwork and Fun - Friday 28th of June
We’re excited to announce that our house captains will be running a House Spirit Morning on the last day of term, right here at school. This event is a great opportunity for students to spend time in their houses and engage in team-building activities.
Students are encouraged to wear their house colours and participate in four different activities. The goal is to bring our houses together, promote teamwork, and have some fun.
As this event is on-site, specific event permission is not required. Keep an eye out for reminders and updates in the lead-up to the event via Compass and the Bulletin. We look forward to seeing everyone in their house colours, ready to enjoy the morning and work together as a team.
A REMINDER FROM OUR SCHOOL NURSE
Spare clothes
Could all parents please ensure their child has a change of clothes (undies/socks/ shorts/stockings/leggings) in a plastic bag in their school bag?
THIS IS IMPORTANT ESPECIALLY IN PREP AND GRADE 1.
This will reduce the stress for your child, if they have a toileting accident or get wet/ muddy.
Thank you to the parents who have returned borrowed clothing to sickbay, however many have not and our supplies continuously run out,
Any donation of packs of undies (all sizes and genders) would be very much appreciated.
Thank you,
School Nurse
Hilda Hallinan
