Day 1 of School Review Reflection
Yesterday we had our first day of our 3-day school review, with the other two days occurring on Tuesdays over the coming weeks. Yesterday the panel reviewed the school’s 2019 – 2023 strategic plan and throughout this, we unpacked the targets that were set in 2019. I am pleased to say that we have made considerable growth in every area, and met or partially met all targets, which is a great achievement.
Furthermore the panel reflected on the FISO 2.0 domains, this reflection will continue over the coming review days before their final deliberations occur. Initially, they have agreed that the school is either embedding or excelling across these domains, which is a great testament to the hard work that has gone into providing exceptional education to all students at IEPS.
One key area that the panel believed was exceptional was the school’s organisational model, which I have attached as a PDF below. We encourage our community to read through this model, which was shared in our first school bulletin of the year. This model has been further unpacked with the School Council and the Review Panel since then and is a key component of our distributive leadership and highlights the throughlines between different domains and the portfolios that our leadership team oversees and how they all interconnect with each other. Our next step is to upload this to our website with photos of staff to provide further information for our wider community.

The Northside Parents Battle Of the Bands is back by popular demand for its 2nd year!
https://youtu.be/COcp4dcz9cM?feature=shared
It will be held over two EPIC nights at Northcote’s iconic live music venue, the Northcote Social Club on the 31st July & 8th August, 2024.
To avoid disappointment, get in early and book your tickets as they sold out very quickly last year and are selling out even faster this year.
The Ivanhoe East PS Parents Band “Lost Property" is participating with 8 other local primary schools including Northcote Primary, Brunswick South Primary, Brunswick East Primary, North Melbourne Primary, Westgarth Primary, Fairfield Primary, Wales Street Primary & Preston South Primary.
The ticket sales proceeds are donated back to expand the performing arts/music education programs and help improve facilities for participating schools.
