May 18^th – Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD)

The purpose of GAAD day is to get individuals talking, thinking and learning about disability and inclusion. Globally, there are over one billion individuals with a disability or impairment. Commonly these are related to vision, hearing, motor or cognition. As a school, we take this day to reflect on what we do to ensure equity amongst our community and what we need to put into place to better our environment and learning opportunities for all.

May 19^th – 25^th – Education Week

This year for Education Week we are inviting our parents and guardians into the classroom! Our Maths open morning allows our loved ones to see how learning is fun and builds our critical and creative thinking to solve numeracy problems. IEPS loves learning and we are excited to share this with the community.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

A highlight for me from last week was when a parent from another school came up to the office to congratulate the IEPS T-Ball team. Despite our team losing, they showed fabulous sportsmanship and were truly wonderful ambassadors for IEPS. Congratulations to Evie, Azura, Liv S, Florence, Lily, Miya, Malena, Kaira & Angelica! We are very proud of you for being such excellent role models for all of our students and true ambassadors for our school.

We are looking forward to celebrating Education Week with our Open Morning planned for Thursday from 9.00 to 10.00am. The students are looking forward to working on their Math’s Games. We hope to see lots of families join us in the morning.

A reminder about our hours of supervision, before and after school.

Before school: The Ivanhoe East Primary school grounds are supervised from 8:45am.  

After school: The Ivanhoe East Primary School grounds are supervised until 3:45pm.

The Wilfred Road Campus Playground is not available for student use before or after school. Students on school grounds outside these times will not be supervised (unless they are attending a before or after school care program or supervised extracurricular activity). Parents/carers are requested to ensure that students do not attend school outside of these supervised times unless they are attending before or after school care. Student safety is always our priority.

Community First Aid – Self Defence Classes

We have had community members engage with us to see if there would be any interest from our wider community to participate in Community First Aid and/or Self Defence Classes. ART Show Volunteers

We are excited to announce our Art show will be back again this year in Term 3, so lock the 4th of September into your diaries now! This year, we are looking to get a parent committee together to help with the promotion, ticketing and setting up of the show. Anyone can volunteer, no matter how small your time contribution is.
