Infectious Disease
There is at present an increase in community transmission of COVID-19 in Victoria. Unfortunately I am one of those individuals who has picked up COVID-19 and I am currently at home isolating.
You can help us keep our school as safe as possible by taking 2 important steps:
1. If applicable ensure your COVID-19 vaccinations are up to date.
2. If your child shows symptoms of COVID-19, please ensure they stay home and get tested.
The easiest way to test is to use a rapid antigen test (RAT). We have RATs available at our school for collection. Furthermore there are free RATs available from your local council where you can collect 2 packs of 5 RATs and an extra 2 packs for each person in your household. People with disability and their carers can get 4 packs of 5 RATs. You are not required to have a Medicare card and you can collect RATs as many times as you need. You can also buy RATs at supermarkets, pharmacies and other retailers.
If your child has symptoms but tests negative, please ensure they stay home until they no longer have symptoms.
If the RAT test result is positive, please ensure they stay home for at least 5 days and until there are no more symptoms.
Thank you for your support. These steps will help us all stay well.
LOTE at IEPS in 2024 (Applicable to all 2024 IEPS families)
Our current Mandarin teacher Astrid Tao has been successful in a recruitment process for a high school for 2024. Therefore we are currently assessing our next steps regarding LOTE.
The team and I have done some further research and identified that French is the most common spoken language across all of the high schools that our students attend, the second most common would be Japanese, with Mandarin as a third. We are asking our community to vote on what language they would like offered at IEPS.
· Mandarin
· French
· Japanese
· Any language (best language teacher available through recruitment process)
Please complete the attached voting form at your earliest convenience. We will be advertising the position on Friday afternoon at 3pm, so we ask our community to vote as soon as possible.
Please note you may select more than one option.

Reminders
Procedure for Collecting Students During School Hours
On the back of a recent bulletin post, please find below a flowchart for our new and improved system of collecting students during school hours.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation with this and we hope this will lead to a timelier and more efficient process for parents and less of a load on our front office as well as not impact teaching time. I also ask that while we are transitioning to this new procedure you please remain respectful to our admin staff.
Assemblies Term 4
This term we will be continuing with fortnightly onsite assemblies, with the alternating week being an IEPS news episode. Below are the dates for our onsite assemblies;-
· Friday 1st of December
· Friday 15th of December (Final assembly of the year)
Furthermore, we have changed our student of the week process. We will be moving to a student of the fortnight where at least 1 student will be awarded with a ‘student of the week,’ recognition at assembly.
At the conclusion of assembly those students will be invited to come up to the front of the gymnasium to get a group photo with Mr Boyle, which will be placed into the following bulletin, parents are also welcome to come up the front to take this photo as well.
