Infectious Disease
Unfortunately we have had to continue to leave our Infectious Disease update at the top of our bulletin. We ask that if your child is symptomatic you do not send them to school and we thank you advance as we acknowledge this can be challenging, especially for working parents.
Out of precaution, we have decided to inform you. If your child does test positive for COVID-19 and/or any other infectious disease we ask you contact the school via email Ivanhoe.east.ps@education.vic.gov.au and it is recommended that they isolate for a minimum of 5 days and not attend school until their symptoms have resolved.
In relation to Covid-19 it is recommended that rapid antigen tests (RATs) are used by students and staff:
- If you have symptoms of COVID-19 infection, no matter how mild
- If you are a household or close contact of someone who has COVID-19
- If you are a social contact of someone who has COVID-19.
Rapid Antigen Tests are also available from the front office, please don’t hesitate to come in and collect as needed.
2024 Prep Enrolments (Due by July 28th)
Please note that all enrolments, including siblings claims and in zone enrolments need to be submitted by Friday 28th of July. Please collect an enrolment form from our front office or online via our website.
We also have a Prospective Prep Information Night on Wednesday 14th of June. If you are interested in participating please fill out the below form.
Mobile Phone/Watches
A friendly reminder that our Mobile Phone Policy states that all phones and devices that connect to cellular networks and/or can take photos/videos, are handed in at the start of the day. These are then returned to students at the end of the day. Any students who are wearing these devices are required to follow this policy and we appreciate your support in this and ask you to have a conversation with your child if this relates to them.
Traffic/Car Parking
Further to student safety, we thank everyone who adheres to the local government and Vic Roads laws regarding the use of vehicles in and around both the school and community. Unfortunately, we have heard complaints of cars sitting across driveways and students exiting cars when not properly parked. We have been in communication with Banyule Council and they will be conducting spot checks before the end of term.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation and support with this matter that impacts not only student safety but that of the wider community.

Winter change of clothes/Clothing donations welcome
Dear Parents,
We are running low on spare clothes.
Could you please put a change of labelled undies pants and socks in your child’s bags?
This will help reduce the stress if your child needs a change.
Could you please check and return to sick bay any spare clothes that have been borrowed? (First aid may be on the label)
We have gone through many packets of spare undies already this term.
Any donations of new small undies, (boys and girls), as well as socks would be very welcome.
Thank you!
