Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,

IEPS Big Night Out

This year’s major school fundraiser, the IEPS Big Night Out, is happening on Saturday 30th August from 7pm at the Terminus Hotel in Fitzroy. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic evening with great food, drinks and of course, our famous live and silent auctions!

Tickets available via the link www.trybooking.com/ddarz and further information on the evening is attached in below image. All funds raised will go towards refurbishing the Space Centre in the school hall, purchasing a new PA system and support covering the cost of having an on-site school nurse. Further information on how to get involved with our silent and live auctions will come out next week, stay tuned.

Upcoming Events (Reminders)

Science Expo this Thursday 26th of June 2:45–3:15pm, showcasing student-led workshops and projects across Physical and Earth & Space Sciences. Stay afterward for a community BBQ from 3:30pm with sausages for a small donation via credit card as we will have the eftpos machine ready! We encourage parents to make their way to their normal pick-up area at 3.15pm as students are required to stay in their classrooms to be dismissed at 3.30 pm.

French Day will be taking place on Friday 4th July, the last day of Term 2! Students who have pre-ordered a croissant, will have it delivered during recess eating time in their classrooms (miam!) It is a French-themed dress up day – think Parisian chic, fashion icons, tour de France riders, Paris Saint-Germaine FC, French food, monuments, classic mime looks or colours of the French flag (blue, white and red).

 Term 3:

Curriculum Day: On Monday 21st of July there is a curriculum day which is a pupil free day, please note that our new OSHC provider TheirCare will be operating on this day. Term 3 will commence on Tuesday 22nd of July.

Cross Country Recap & Sporting Updates

Well done to all students who participated in Cross Country this term! From school-level events right through to higher levels, it was fantastic to see so many students giving their best and having a go.

On Wednesday 18 June, Region Cross Country was held at Kilmore Race Track. The following students represented our school with great determination and, by all reports, did an outstanding job:

  • Dane A
  • Teddy J
  • Ziba M
  • Harry P
  • Gage W

Congratulations to all of you on your incredible achievement!

We’d also like to give a special mention to Connor H, who made it through to the final stage of state football try-outs. Connor was named as an emergency in the 27-player squad—an outstanding accomplishment. Well done, Connor!

As we wrap up the Cross Country season, our attention now turns to Athletics. Students in Years 3–6 are currently participating in an athletics unit in PE, as they prepare for our annual Year 3–6 Standardised Athletics Day. This exciting event will take place at Collingwood Harriers on Thursday 31 July.

Please refer to the Compass event notice, now live, for all key details and permission requirements.

Thank you to all parents and carers for your ongoing support throughout the term. We’re looking forward to a fantastic Term 3 of sport.

Finally, we wish the IEPS A and B Football 9’s teams all the best in their District Finals this Friday—go team!

Student of the Fortnight

Assembly update

Assembly & Fortnightly Bulletin Update

In 2025, we will continue to alternate between onsite and online assemblies, however given the amount of work that is required to create a YouTube episode, these will only be showcased twice per term in weeks 4 and 8.

Each year level will host at least one onsite assembly, share their learning and present the Student of the Fortnight and green card awards and announce house points.

Assemblies will be held onsite in the school gym at 9am on alternate Friday mornings. Please refer to the schedule below:
