Mothers’ Day Lunch

Please remember that the Mothers’ day lunch is being held at Pigro tomorrow and the Mothers’ Day Stall will be running on Friday. Thank you to the PTFA for organising these events that allow our families to acknowledge and celebrate

this occasion.

Dad’s Bowls & Pizza Night

Last Friday was the 8th running of the inaugural IEPS Dads’ Bowling event. Eager competitors arrived early, clad in tightly fitting sporting attire gifted last Christmas, ready for an evening of intense focus and rivalry.

The first round of Pizza arrived fashionably late, allowing time for the commentary team to debate the rules in detail over the microphone while trying to explain them. A confused but enthused rabble hit the greens for 6 x 2 ends of competition with roaming commentary and interactive player interviews. At the end of the home and away season 4 teams tied for second. A playoff to reach the final ensued with Michael Hobsbawn taking team 8 into the finals against top of the table Team 5 led by Brian Motz.

The final also came down to a playoff bowl, where Michael secured the Championship with his team members Darren De Banks, Jason Wood and Murray Mitchell.

The raffle first prize of a $500 Westfield voucher was won by Ed Griffiths (not rigged) second prize by Jason Woods (also not rigged).

A massive thank you to Ivanhoe East Bowling Club, Foodworks, and most of all Ed Griffiths who was announced as the first life-member of IEPS Dads’ Bowling after organising it for the last 7 years, and making it the success we all enjoy!

Bunnings Sausage Sizzle

A great day was had on Saturday at the Bunnings BBQ fundraiser. Not only did we have fantastic weather, we also saw fantastic community spirit! A BIG thank you to everyone who volunteered - it really was an outstanding fundraiser only made possible by those of you who pulled it together, and it wasn't short of a few laughs either! Overall we raised $2,894.05.

The best part is we get to bank the entire sum raised thanks to FoodWorks. All the food and drinks for the BBQ were purchased using the points IEPS earns when you shop at our local Ivanhoe East Grocer.

Thank you once again to the people who rolled up their sleeves to pitch in, to those who visited the stall to buy a snag or two and to all the people who support our school by nominating IEPS to receive points when shopping at FoodWorks - every little bit goes a long way.

A huge thank you must go to Luisa Ford for coordinating the event. Your professionalism and attention to detail was magnificent. We are so very lucky to have your support.

Fathers Day Breakfast

On Friday 9th of September we celebrated our Dads, Pops, Uncles and Male Carers with a Celebratory breakfast outside the Canteen.

270 people attended and the had an amazing time with The Men chatting and playing hand ball and other games with the kids whilst enjoying catering from Bitter Sweet Cafe. The rain stayed away until after the breakfast making a fabulous morning enjoyed by all. Thanks to all who attended.

A huge thanks to Louisa Ford, Valerie Varasdi, Theoni Gosious, Bec Bolden and Leanne Bradford for their help in the canteen and running coffees.

We look forward to celebrating out Dads again next year

Save the Date GALA

Did you know we are just $40,000 short on the cost for the TOTAL Upgrade of the School oval??? The objective of the Gala this year is to raise as much as possible with all funds raised go directly towards the Oval Redevelopment Fund. The Fundraising side of things are running 'full steam' ahead.

Raffle tickets have gone home via the eldest child of each family. The School Raffle is a MAJOR fundraiser of the Gala so please attempt to sell your whole book of tickets; extra books are available at the office. The tickets cost $5 each or 5 for $20 (10 tickets/book) and there are 12 prizes to be won.

Please return the money and ticket stubs to your child’s classroom in the envelope provided by Wednesday June 15 2016 at the very latest. This year there is a book seller’s prize ($50 Westfield Voucher) for someone who has sold a complete book and returned it to the office by Monday June 6 and a $50 Westfield voucher for the person who sells the most books. Please fill in the stub at the end of the book once you have sold all the tickets.

Thank you to the people and businesses listed below for your amazing support and donations towards our fundraising at the Gala (a complete list will be advertised just before the event).

If you have pledged to donate item/s for auctions etc. please be mindful that these will have to be finalised and written up well before the event and will need to be delivered to the school office from now and up to 3 June.
