Last Thursday 11th May 60 wonderful IEPS Mums’ joined us for lunch at PIGRO.

This year’s Health & Wellbeing theme was backed up with three wonderful guest speakers; Josephine Brown who spoke about Mindfulness & Meditation, Catherine Donato owner of Align Pilates talking on the benefits of Pilates, and

IEPS Mum & Clinical Nutritionist  Vicky Tsoleridis who spoke about chemicals in food and her new company MediMeals.

Our ladies enjoyed a beautiful 3-course meal including a welcome drink and tea and coffee. With $1800 worth of gifts won in the raffle, gifts from the PTFA, beautiful food and atmosphere, a great day was had by all.

Mothers’ Day Lunch

Please remember that the Mothers’ day lunch is being held at Pigro tomorrow and the Mothers’ Day Stall will be running on Friday. Thank you to the PTFA for organising these events that allow our families to acknowledge and celebrate

this occasion.

Dad’s Bowls & Pizza Night

Last Friday was the 8th running of the inaugural IEPS Dads’ Bowling event. Eager competitors arrived early, clad in tightly fitting sporting attire gifted last Christmas, ready for an evening of intense focus and rivalry.

The first round of Pizza arrived fashionably late, allowing time for the commentary team to debate the rules in detail over the microphone while trying to explain them. A confused but enthused rabble hit the greens for 6 x 2 ends of competition with roaming commentary and interactive player interviews. At the end of the home and away season 4 teams tied for second. A playoff to reach the final ensued with Michael Hobsbawn taking team 8 into the finals against top of the table Team 5 led by Brian Motz.

The final also came down to a playoff bowl, where Michael secured the Championship with his team members Darren De Banks, Jason Wood and Murray Mitchell.

The raffle first prize of a $500 Westfield voucher was won by Ed Griffiths (not rigged) second prize by Jason Woods (also not rigged).

A massive thank you to Ivanhoe East Bowling Club, Foodworks, and most of all Ed Griffiths who was announced as the first life-member of IEPS Dads’ Bowling after organising it for the last 7 years, and making it the success we all enjoy!

Bunnings Sausage Sizzle

A great day was had on Saturday at the Bunnings BBQ fundraiser. Not only did we have fantastic weather, we also saw fantastic community spirit! A BIG thank you to everyone who volunteered - it really was an outstanding fundraiser only made possible by those of you who pulled it together, and it wasn't short of a few laughs either! Overall we raised $2,894.05.

The best part is we get to bank the entire sum raised thanks to FoodWorks. All the food and drinks for the BBQ were purchased using the points IEPS earns when you shop at our local Ivanhoe East Grocer.

Thank you once again to the people who rolled up their sleeves to pitch in, to those who visited the stall to buy a snag or two and to all the people who support our school by nominating IEPS to receive points when shopping at FoodWorks - every little bit goes a long way.

A huge thank you must go to Luisa Ford for coordinating the event. Your professionalism and attention to detail was magnificent. We are so very lucky to have your support.

Fathers Day Breakfast

On Friday 9th of September we celebrated our Dads, Pops, Uncles and Male Carers with a Celebratory breakfast outside the Canteen.

270 people attended and the had an amazing time with The Men chatting and playing hand ball and other games with the kids whilst enjoying catering from Bitter Sweet Cafe. The rain stayed away until after the breakfast making a fabulous morning enjoyed by all. Thanks to all who attended.

A huge thanks to Louisa Ford, Valerie Varasdi, Theoni Gosious, Bec Bolden and Leanne Bradford for their help in the canteen and running coffees.

We look forward to celebrating out Dads again next year
