The Year 4 students welcomed Hands On Science to IEPS on Wednesday for an incursion titled Our Changing Earth. Students explored the natural processes of weathering and erosion, types of rocks and the rock cycle and the effects of different human activities on the earth’s surface. The students found the presentation highly engaging and couldn’t thank the presenters enough for their visit.
Curtis from 4A reflected:
Our incursion was called Our Changing Earth. It was very interesting because there was lots of words that we did not know anything about, like conglomerate, sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous. We learnt about how wind moves sand and cuts rocks, and that is called erosion, and how when a volcano bursts it makes conglomerate rocks.
