A gentle reminder that it is not appropriate for parents to approach the children of other parents and intervene in their school disputes. Children are assured that IEPS is a safe and caring environment and they should not be spoken to or feel uneasy about the parents of other children being in the school.

It is quite normal for young children to have spats and minor disagreements. When these occur at school many disputes are resolved skilfully by the children themselves. This is the ideal situation which shows that children have begun to develop their own problem solving, social and negotiation skills. If they cannot resolve their differences then we encourage them to let their teacher know or another adult who can help them achieve a mutually agreeable solution.

We are grateful to the parents who observe practices which ensure we continue to be a respectful and law abiding community.
